Clinic Policies and Forms

To make your visit as smooth as possible, we have gathered our clinic policies and forms in one place. Please review them before your appointment and complete any required paperwork in advance. If you have questions, contact our team and we will be happy to help.

Important Policies & Procedures

We are unable to treat your pet without establishing a valid Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR), which requires sufficient knowledge of the patient and complete, accurate information from the client. Learn more about the VCPR here.

Pets should be restrained by a leash or carrier upon arrival. A loose pet is a danger to themselves and others. Please notify the staff if your pet is known to be reactive, anxious, or aggressive.

If you must cancel an appointment we ask for 24 hours notice. For surgical appointments we ask for a 48 hours cancellation notice, as these appointments are very costly if they are cancelled at the last minute. A late cancellation fee may be applied to your account for last minute cancellations.

After two documented instances of a no-show or same day cancellation, a reservation fee will be required when booking future appointments. For surgical and dental procedures, a reservation fee will be required after the first instance.

For any new patient visit, we ask that you bring with you any paperwork relating to vaccine history as well as current health issues.

Understand that emergencies may affect wait times.

Payment is due at the time services are rendered. Please discuss treatment plans and payment options before procedures. We are happy to provide an estimate for any visit or treatment as needed.

We accept cash, credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and personal checks.

We also offer Care Credit and Cherry as financing options.

We have both in-house and online pharmacies for dispensing medication.

We do not offer refunds for any medications after they have been dispensed.

A full physical exam will be performed on your pet prior to sedation. In order to minimize the risk of complications, we strongly recommend
preoperative lab work be performed to assure proper organ function, clotting ability, detect anemia or infection, and provide a baseline for future reference.

Because heartworm preventives are prescription medications, pets need a current exam and annual heartworm test before refills. This keeps your pet safe and ensures the medication will work as intended.

Yes! Parasites are active all year in our warm, humid climate. That’s why we strongly recommend keeping pets on prevention every month, all year long.

Yes! We offer Snout Wellness Plans designed to spread out the cost of preventive care. These plans make it easier to keep up with exams, vaccines, and testing throughout the year.

In many cases, yes. Rechecks allow us to confirm that your pet’s treatment plan is helping, adjust doses as weight or health changes, and catch side effects early. They also help prevent masking bigger problems with medications that “quiet” symptoms. Rechecks keep your pet’s care on track and ensure prescriptions remain safe, legal, and appropriate. Helpful tip: Bring notes about appetite, drinking, bathroom habits, itch or pain scores, pill bottles, and even short videos when you come in. These details help us tailor your pet’s care.
